Dr Amar Shinde is a highly respected psychiatrist and the founder of Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre, known for his significant contributions to mental health care in India.
He is an elected Member of the National Committee of the Indian Association of Psychiatrists and was past president of the Pune branch of the Indian Psychiatric Society, as well as a member of its executive council.
He is also awarded as Maharashtra Healthcare Idol by the respected newspaper Sakal, for his extensive community outreach and training of future psychiatrists.
Dr. Shinde's Accomplishments: Founder of Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre and Consulting: He leads Jagruti rehabilitation centre, which currently has 18 centres across India, that has helped over 80,000 people with psychiatric, dementia and addiction issues.
Community Outreach: Dr. Shinde actively participates in Manojagruti Mental Health Awareness Campaigns, providing free treatment and medicines to underserved communities.
Postgraduate Training: He is responsible for training eight postgraduate psychiatrists annually, demonstrating a commitment to psychiatric education (CPS).
Leadership in the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS): He has served as the Past President of the IPS Pune Branch and is an Executive Council Member.
Research and Innovation: Dr. Shinde collaborates with pharmaceutical companies to research new treatments for mental health conditions like schizophrenia and dementia.
Advocate for Holistic Care: He is known for his dedication to humane and holistic approaches to dementia care.
